ALAN RYKER, DIRECTOR – Founder and first president of NPC, Alan served on many boards and committees in the City for over 15 years, he also served the community at-large as a member of the Southwest Florida Land Preservation Trust working on the completion of the Gordon River Greenway. In addition, through his many years in NPC, he participated in efforts ultimately resulting in Naples receiving the Bronze Bicycle Friendly Community Award for 2015-2018 from the League of American Bicyclists, and was responsible for publication of the first City of Naples Bicycle & Tourism Map. Alan serves as NPC’s senior advocate for the City of Naples.
BILL ALE, DIRECTOR – Bill is a retired psychologist who spent his career in various capacities with the Department of Developmental Disabilities, State of Connecticut. A competitive cyclist, he has won several championships and holds a USA Cycling Domestic Member License. Bill earned his BS in Science form Washburn University and his MS in Marital & Family therapy from Southern Connecticut State University. He chairs the NPC Membership Committee.
YOCHI MELNICK, DIRECTOR – a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker Previews International since 2004, Yochi is an avid runner and cyclist and is a member of Naples Velo. Gulf Coast Runners and Naples Area Triathlete.
SUSAN SONNENSCHEIN, SECRETARY - spent most of her life in Maine and has a great love of the outdoors and bicycling, in particular. She owned and operated a profitable small wholesale business in Maine for 10 years. After moving to Naples, she became a top producing mortgage loan officer, and most recently worked as a private chef before retiring.
BOB VIGORITO, DIRECTOR – a retired clinical instructor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Bob was also the founder and president of the non-profit charitable Columbia Triathlon Association and an Ironman World Championship finisher.
JODI WALBORN, DIRECTOR – Jodi is the the Safe Routes to School Community Educator for Collier County, teaching children safe walking and biking skills through rodeos at schools and community events. She works with parents and schools doing walkability/bikeability assessments around school buildings and brings community organizations together to help rectify barriers. A graduate of Florida Gulf Coast University with a BS in Health Sciences, Jodi chairs the NPC Education & Community Service Committee.
SHANNON MORGAN, DIRECTOR - co-owner of Prestige Insurance Consultants, enjoys volunteering at the many races sponsored by Gulf Coast Runners and is a running buddy with Girls on the Run.
CRAIG MANCHEN, PRESIDENT - A retired business owner from Cleveland, Craig has been a part-time resident of Naples since 2006. He holds both a BS in marketing and an MBA from Ohio University, and serves on the boards of several private companies. Craig is an avid cyclist who finished first in his age group in the 2015 Senior National Games and serves on the steering committee of the VeloSano Bike to Cure Cancer Fundraiser. Craig chairs the NPC Events & Fundraising Committee.
SEAN NOLAN, TREASURER - Sean grew up in North Palm Beach and graduated from Florida State University with a BS in accounting and a master’s degree in sports administration. He is a CPA and partner at Rogers Wood Hill Starman & Gustason, PA. Moving to Naples in 2003, Sean quickly became involved in the community. He is an alum of Leadership Collier 2011 and currently serves as treasurer for Naples Area Triathletes and Gulf Coast Runners. Sean chairs the NPC Finance Committee.
JOE BONNESS, DIRECTOR - One of the founders of NPC and a former co-president, ”Iron Joe” Bonness also has the distinction of being a world champion triathelete and is the namesake of the Iron Joe Turkey Ride, one of NPC’s signature events. He has lived in Naples since1967 and owns and operates highway construction, quarry, and trucking, and electrical operations. He is a member of USA Trialthalon, Ironman Triathlons, and Naples Area Triathletes. Joe serves as NPC’s senior advocate for Collier County.
BETH BRAINARD, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Before joining NPC, Beth directed communications and marketing efforts for divisions of Disney World and Harvard University. A Harvard graduate, she has extensive experience in fundraising and donor relations for non-profit organizations. Beth moved to Naples in 2013, and is a member of the Leadership Collier Class of 2016. She is active in the Conservancy of Southwest Florida where she is a boat captain, and with the Museum of the Everglades. She is also the author of an award-winning children’s book.
